Guido Bissanti was born in Cinisi (PA) in 1955. He graduated in the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Studies in Palermo. After his degree and up to 1989, he worked as a researcher, with funds financed by the CNR, on programs of biological and integrated struggle. From 2005 carries out the  integrating activity of the course of " biological and integrated control of the  animals organisms" in the Agrarian Faculty of Palermo.
From 1991 to 1998, he held the position of president of the Order of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry in the province of Agrigento; and from 1995 to 1998, that of president of the Regional Federation of the Orders of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry in Sicily. 
From 2000 to 2004, he has been a member of the National Council of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry, for which he has been the delegate for environmental matters. From 2007 is still member of the National Council of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry.
From 2000 to 2004, he has been a member, as a representative of the National Council of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry, of the Committee of European Agronomy Engineers (CEDIA), based in Brussels, and of the Committee of the Associations of European Graduated Engineers (CLAIU) based in Brussels. 
Since 1995, he has been the co-editor of Agroambiente - the official publication of the National Council of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry. 
He is also co-editor of AF, the official press organ of National Council of Doctors of Agronomy and Doctors of Forestry.
In addition to some scientific publications, he has published quite a lot articles in periodicals specialized in Environmental matters and Territorial Planning. 
In 1999, he published the volume: "Rural development and Renaissance Politics" published by New Ipsa, Palermo. 
In 2003, he published the volume: "From Matter to the Father" published by Mario Grispo Editore, Palermo. 
Over the years he has promoted Conferences and Debates on Environmental questions, on Sustainable Development, Environmental Thermodynamics and Socioeconomic Ethics. In this role he has been the coordinator or chairman of conferences on these subjects. 
In 2001, he founded the voluntary association for the application of Sustainable Development – Terredelsud, of which he is currently President. 
He is a Doctor of Agronomy in the sectors of Territorial Planning and Environmental Planning. 
He is particularly interested in Environmental Systems, Environmental Thermodynamics, Sustainable Development and Analysis of Environmental and Rural Politics.                                                                             Since 2007 is deputy secretary of Sicily and secretary of the province of Agrigento of Alleanza Cristiana Political Party which is National responsible for the  Environment Agency.
